Sunday Worship Schedule 

  • Sunday School Gathering Fellowship 10 am – 10:15
  • Sunday School Age Level Classes 10:20 am
  • Worship: 11am
  •      Holy Communion on 1st Sunday of the month

Life in Community – Educational Opportunities 

  • Community Women’s Bible Study: Held in the fellowship hall at Clark’s Chapel UMC. Short-term studies held in the Fall and Spring
  • Choir: The Alexander Chapel Choir invites church attenders who are in High School and adults of all ages to join in this important ministry.  We sing each Sunday in Worship, special services and for special community events.
  • Children Ministries:  We offer children’s classes for all ages every Sunday and during the year special programs and activities.  Children of all ages are always welcome at Alexander Chapel.
  • Neotes Youth Group: We offer a Jr Hi & a Sr Hi group. In addition to our regular meetings we also participate in mission projects and have special outings throughout the year.  We place a strong emphasis on spiritual education in a fun, active and age appropriate program.  Visitors are always welcome.
  • Fellowship Pot Lucks: Quarterly and special occasions we join together for a meal and fellowship following the worship service. We also offer other fellowship opportunities that are announced in the church bulletin.
  • Men’s Fellowship: Meet throughout the year for special times of fellowship

Prayer Ministries

  • Church Prayer Chain: Each Sunday worshipers are invited to turn their prayer requests in on the prayer cards provided in the bulletin.  You are invited to share you prayers and praises with us.  During the week prayer requests go out across the prayer chain during the week.
  • Prayer Shawl Ministry:  Church members create knitted and crocheted items to send out to those in need of special comfort and prayer.
  • Prayer Pockets:  Crochet pockets filled with a tissue packet and other items are given hospital visits as a reminder that Alexander Chapel is praying.
  • Prayer Pillows:  Prayer pillows offer soothing comfort and are given as a reminder that Alexander Chapel is praying continually for those who are suffering.

Outreach & Missions

  • Brian Center Worship Team: The third Sunday each month our team travels to the local nursing home to offer a traditional worship service to the residents.
  • North Buncombe Samaritan Ministry: Our church has an on going food collection and financial support to help meet needs in our community.
  • Nurture Team: In times of need our church offers food, transport and help to church members who are in need.  Weekly we take worship CD/DVDs to those who are shut-in.  This team also sets up socials and special events at the church.
  • Special Worship Programs:  Several times a year we offer special Worship programs for the community.
