Pastor’s Page

Greetings from Alexander Chapel UMC, we are so excited you have chosen to visit our website and hope you will visit often.  Alexander Chapel UMC loves company!  We look forward to the day when we can meet you in person.  It is our hope that you will join us for worship at Alexander Chapel UMC soon.  It will be our privilege to welcome you.

Our Sunday Morning Worship Service is traditional.  Each Sunday the congregation shares in the singing of traditional hymns, the Apostles Creed, Prayers of the People and a Responsive Psalter Reading before we share the scripture reading and the sermon. On the first Sunday of the month we celebrate Holy Communion together. Alexander Chapel UMC is a multigenerational congregation that believes it is important for all ages to participate in worship together.  Our laity is actively involved in in worship.   When you attend, you will see children, youth and adults serving in worship.  Sermon Series are based on preaching through books of the Bible and always address how the scriptures apply to our life today.

In addition to Sunday Morning Worship at 11am, we also offer Sunday School for all ages at 10am.  We have an active children’s and youth program.  Our choir has both adult and youth participants.  Spiritual formation is a vital part of our shared experience.  We believe that God has called us to a strong connectional relationship with Christ that radiates out to relationship with our brothers and sisters in Christ and supports us as we carry out the Great Commission in our world.  Bible Study, choir, children and youth programs, fellowship meals, community specials and mission opportunities offer us the opportunity to connect as a church family. Alexander Chapel is a loving and caring congregation.

My passion as a pastor is preaching, teaching and Pastoral care.  It has been my privilege to serve as the pastor of Alexander Chapel UMC since 2003. I invite you to join us at Alexander Chapel UMC soon.  It will be my privilege to welcome you as you meet our church family.

My Bio:

  • Christian Educator
  • Undergraduate degree from Montreat College
  • Master in Christian Leadership Gordon Conwell (Charlotte)
  • Course of Study Emory University

I was born in Virginia and raised in the United Methodist Church.  I accepted Christ as my savior at the age of 15. My husband, Ray, serves our sister congregation at Clark’s Chapel UMC.  We have been married for 35 years. We have two grown children and two young grandchildren. Ray and I consider it a gift from God that we are allowed to work together in Christian ministry as we answer our ministry call.

Before becoming a pastor, I served as a Christian Educator at Christ United Methodist Church.  I have a passion of working with children, youth and families. I also enjoy working with the elderly.  I believe the shepherding/pastoral care aspect of ministry is a vital component of the pastoral call.  My spiritual life journey has given me the opportunity to serve God with my spiritual gifts.  It is a privilege to be able to teach others how God longs to use all of us to his glory as we draw close to him and seek his guidance.
