Greetings from Alexander Chapel UMC, we are so excited you have chosen to visit our website and hope you will visit often. Alexander Chapel UMC loves company! We look forward to the day when we can meet you in person. It is our hope that you will join us for worship at Alexander Chapel UMC soon. It will be our privilege to welcome you.
We are a second career clergy couple who are licensed local pastors. Marjory has pastored at Alexander Chapel since 2003, while Ray pastored our sister church, Clark’s Chapel, also since 2003. In 2020, we began serving both churches together, in 2021 just Alexander Chapel, and beginning in 2023, Ray is serving Clark’s Chapel again. Ray recently retired as the senior climate scientist at the Air Force’s 14th Weather Squadron, located at the Federal Building in Asheville. Marjory has a background in Christian Education with her undergraduate degree and from serving at the Christian Educator at Christ UMC in Weaverville, our sending church. We also have extensive background in church leadership prior to becoming pastors. We have two grown children and two grandchildren.
Our passion is to provide biblical teaching and walk with you with the grace and love of Jesus Christ. We consider it a true joy to work together as we serve this wonderful church. Blessings! Pastor Ray and Pastor Marjory

- Retired Meteorologist / Climatologist
- Air Force Veteran
- Undergraduate and Master’s Meteorology degrees from NC State
- Master of Divinity from Gordon Conwell (Charlotte)
