Warren and Cindy are a second career retired clergy couple. Warren and Cindy were each appointed as part-time co-pastors to Alexander Chapel UMC and Clark’s Chapel UMC July 1, 2024. They have a grown son in Florida, and a grown son and daughter-in-law with three grandchildren in Ohio. Before being called to full-time clergy ministry, Cindy’s work was in the field of k-12 special education and school administration in k-12. Warren’s previous work was in the areas of finance, management, and teaching Finance and Management in Colleges. Cindy served 13 years prior to retirement as an elder in UMC churches in the Western North Carolina Conference. Warren served 9 years prior to retirement as a Licensed Local Pastor in UMC churches in the Western North Carolina Conference. Cindy retired June 2021. Warren retired June 2024. People tell them jokingly that they “failed at retirement,” since they continue to serve in pastoral ministry while retired!
Warren’s and Cindy’s passions are to provide biblical teaching and walk with you with the grace and love of Jesus Christ, equipping you to share your faith in God with others. Warren and Cindy consider it a true joy and privilege to work together as they serve this wonderful church.
Cindy’s Bio:
- Retired Public School Teacher, Special Education Specialist, and Administrator
- Undergraduate degree in k-12 Special Education from Southwest Missouri State University
- Masters in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University
- Masters of Divinity from Duke Divinity School
- Church Leadership: Sunday School teacher, Choir Member, Women’s Retreats, Celebrate Recovery Leadership, VBS, DCOM, Mentor for Candidates for Ministry
Warren’s Bio:
- Owner of Tax Preparation and Insurance businesses
- Undergraduate degree in Applied Organizational Management from Warner Southern College
- Masters of Arts in Finance and Management from Webster University
- Completed Basic and Advanced Course of Study from Duke Divinity School
- Previous work: Head bank teller, Federal Government accounting, Insurance auditor, College professor
- Church Leadership: Lay Speaker, Choir Member
