Pastor: “Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!” (Psalm 95:6) With all our heart and with all our mind, let us pray to the Lord. Let us praise his holy name for he is good and his love endures forever.

People: Let us give thanks for the peace that comes from above, for the loving-kindness of God and for the salvation of our souls that comes through Christ alone. We for peace in the world, for the welfare of the Holy Church Universal and for all who are persecuted for their faith. Lord, lead your faithful forward.
Pastor: Hear our prayers for America and guide our leaders at every level of government to turn to you and follow your ways. For all who serve to care for us and protect us we pray for your hand of care for them and their families.

People: Lord, we acknowledge that every blessing comes from you and we give thanks for seasonal weather, for food, clothing and comfort. Grant us the wisdom to for all you have given us in a way that brings you glory and honor.

Pastor: Today we come before you with our prayers of intercession:

Pastor: We give You thanks for sustaining Alexander Chapel UMC in these uncertain times. We pray for your Holy Spirit to descend on us as we gather in person and through the provision of social media. Hear our prayers for this church as we continue to seek your vision and to follow your way. Protect us and make us good stewards of all you have entrusted to our care.

People: For our pastors and our church leaders we pray for your holy wisdom and care. For all who are sick or away from home we pray for you care. For all our prayer chain requests we give thanks that you meet needs and ask you to continue to care for every need. For the poor and the oppressed, for the unemployed and the destitute, for prisoners and captives, and for all who have suffered loss. Lord, hear our prayer.

Pastor: Though Christ Our Lord, who goes before us we make our prayer following Christ’s example to his disciples saying . . . Our Father . . . Amen

All: Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, which art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, As it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive them that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, The power, and the glory, For ever and ever. Amen.
