Pastor Prayer

Prayers of the People: For Faithful Vision and Mission

Pastor: Lord, we come before you with humble praise and adoration for who you are. Mighty and most powerful One, we honor you above all, our creator and sustainer – our living Hope.

People: Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim his greatness. Let the whole world know what he has done! For great is our Lord and worthy to be praised.

Pastor: We give thanks to Christ who died for our sins that we can be restored to a right relationship as we accept salvation that comes only through the sacrificial death, burial and resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

People: We confess that we are weak and far too often fall short of your glory. Hear our prayers of confession and forgive our sins. We long to be your faithful people.

Pastor: We give thanks that you have given us all we need to live a faithful life to your glory. Lead us to embrace your truth.

People: Lord, guide us to seek your ways and to follow your path. Hear our prayer and find us faithful.

Pastor: May the God who loves us without end lead us from belief into passionate action that embodies the love of Christ.

People: Oh Lord, grant our church leaders your insight for the future mission of this church. Show them how to lead us as we work together to accomplish your plan. Grant our pastors’ your wisdom, strength and grace as they shepherd this congregation for your glory

Pastor: For America – we ask for forgiveness for our nation has turned so far away from you. We ask for holy revival and your hand upon our leaders at every level of government. We pray for those who protect and care for our needs and for their families.

People: For our people who have been devastated by manmade and natural disasters, the ongoing struggle of Covid and the divisions caused by difference of opinion, we pray for your holy touch and hand of wisdom. Lead us to live and love following your example and guide us to lean not on our own understanding.

Pastor: We pray for the future of the church universal recognizing that we live in a time of transition and quickly changing culture. Show us how to navigate with your truth in a way that will be heard in the world today.

People: Lord, we confess that without your holy intervention and insight we are unable to be the salt and light you have called us to be in the world. Turn our hearts to you. Give us a passion for reaching out with the gospel. At all times remind us that we are your ambassadors charged with a holy commission to carry out.

Pastor: Lead to not lean on past accomplishments but to be ever moving forward seeking your direction. Show us how to mentor and raise up people who will stand strong in their faith. Send us out ready to meet the challenges. We recognize your desire for us to strive for a likeness of Jesus your Son and we have heard the call to holy living. What a privilege it is to walk in holiness, pure in thought and deed!

People: As we passionately seek you as a people and a church ready us for service, move in us to love one another and to work together tirelessly for the good of the gospel. We give you thanks for this church, our mission, our love for each other. Be our protection and continue to pour out your blessings upon us. Use us for the glory of your kingdom.

Pastor: How wonderful it is, Father, that you have freely given us new life with Christ! Your salvation and love have overwhelmed us and humbled us. As we now live as children of your Kingdom, we want to share in this adventure of mission and evangelism, of service and obedience, of sharing and compassion.

People: Keep us faithful, keep us joyful, keep us alert to your Spirit’s voice and obedient to respond. Involve us in the action; encourage us to be bolder and fearless.

ALL: In the name of Jesus we pray. May all who come behind us find us faithful Amen.
