Prayers of the People
Pastor: Lord of all creation, of water, earth and sky. The heavens
are your Tabernacle. God of wonders beyond our galaxy. You are holy, holy. The universe declares Your majesty. Glory to the Lord Most High.
People: Early in the morning we will celebrate your light. As we stumble in the darkness, we will call your name by night. Precious Lord, reveal Your heart to us.
Pastor: O God beyond all praising, we worship you and adore your glory, revealed in the face of your beloved Son. Lead us to receive and obey your Word.
People: Forgive us for our sins as we repent and make us bold to proclaim to the world the truth revealed in Christ our only way of salvation.
Pastor: May your Church Universal listen and hold fast to the heavenly calling. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer. Give to those persecuted for their faith, confidence and hope established through steadfast obedience. Grant them Your grace to triumph through sufferings with courage and holy peace in their heart.
People: Lord, hear our prayers. Answer according to your perfect will
Pastor: Let your radiance, fill the hearts of this congregation and sanctify the ministries of Alexander Chapel UMC. Make our worship and our mission a sacrifice of praise. Use us to lead others to Jesus, that with us, they may worship, honor, bless and adore Your name.
People: Guide the leaders of Alexander Chapel UMC to seek your instruction and wisdom in serving. Be our protection and lead us care respectfully for the blessing you have given this church. Make us a generous people. We pray for your hand upon our pastors. Guide them to lead in your strength and grace.
Pastor: We pray for America. Forgive us for not following you faithfully. Touch the hearts of our leaders at every level of government. Guide them to seek your ways. Be with those who place their lives in danger for our wellbeing and be with their families who worry for their safety.
People: Lord, make us an instrument of your peace. Come to the aid of those ravished by the evil of war. Bring restoration and renewal to their homelands. We ask for justice upon those who do evil and lead all nations in seeking a holy peace that only you can give.
Pastor: We lift our hearts to you as we pray for
- Those who are suffering, sick and grieving
- Let all who care for them do so with tenderness and compassion. We give thanks for your unending mercies.
- In your grace, hear our prayers for those who have requested prayer on the prayer chain. Lord, answer according to your perfect will.
People: Focus us as Pastor Ray brings your message today. Let him speak with holy wisdom and truth. Touch and renew our being as we listen and receive. Send us out ready to serve
Pastor: For all these things, dear Father, and for whatever else you desire for us in your wisdom and compassion, we pray following Christ’s example when he taught the disciples to pray . .
All: Lord’s Prayer
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive our trespassers. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever! Amen
