Prayers of the People

Leader: O Lord, with our lips we offer you praise. In our reading, listening, meditation and prayer, grant that in every pursuit of the soul we may hear your voice and delight in your promises. May we commend all things to your gracious hand and trust your sure reward in Christ.

People: Lord, receive our praise. Grant us ears to hear and hearts ready to receive. Lead us to trust fully in you.

Leader: Have mercy on us, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy, blot out our transgressions for the sake of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who was crucified for our sins and raised for our redemption. Hear us as we confess our sins and repent.

People: Lord, hear as we confess our sins and repent. Create in us a clean heart. Renew a right spirit within us.

Leader: The sacrifices of God — a broken spirit, a broken and contrite heart — O God, you will not despise. Grant that we may live lives that are honorable and pure before you. Deliver us from those things that would keep us from seeking your wisdom and grace.

People: Hear our prayers and teach us your ways that we may be your faithful disciples.

Leader: O Lord, restore to us the joy of your salvation and uphold us by your willing Spirit. Teach us faithfulness in the practice of generous giving and helping those in need. Preserve us from selfishness, which denies help to others, as well as foolish pride that seeks recognition for doing what is right. Lead us to serve joyously in your name.

People: Make us your people; ready to be light to the darkness. Give us your loving compassion for the world.

Leader: With the confidence that Jesus came to restore us in body, mind and spirit; we lift up our silent request and praises.  – –PAUSE —   Lord, we give you thanks.

People: Hear our prayer for those suffering for their faith. We pray for our nation and for all who place themselves and harm’s way for our safe keeping. Be our source of protection and holy wisdom. Hear our prayers for America and our leaders. Guide us to turn our hearts to you. We ask you to bring spiritual revival and heal our land.

Leader: Hear our prayers and grant healing according to your wisdom and grace. Sustain and strengthen our faith in time of trial. Preserve us from doubting you when we are confronted with pain and challenges. We place our trust in your holy care.  We ask for your holy hand to be upon this church and lead us to be your faithful disciples.

People: Into your hands we commend all who have asked us to pray, trusting in your mercy, through faith in Christ. Lord, hear our prayers.

Leader: Gracious Lord, anoint me with your Holy Spirit as I proclaim the message this day. Let my words be your words of hope and transformation.

People: Lord, we pray for Pastor Ray and Pastor Marjory as they shepherd our church. By your power and grace grant him holy strength and wisdom to be your faithful servant – leaders.

Leader: We make our prayers in the precious name of Jesus our Lord and Savior who gave his disciples an example for prayer when he prayed,

Our Father, which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.
