Prayers of the People:

Pastor: We come before you this morning with praise for your goodness and mercy that is from everlasting to everlasting.

People: We thank you for the gift of Jesus who came to bring us eternal salvation.

Pastor: In the midst of our joyful celebrations, we remember those who are hurting. Bring hope, healing and restoration.

People: We ask you to be with Christians around the world who are persecuted for their faith.Give them your strength to persevere.

Pastor: We confess that often we fail to be your faithful people. Hear us as we confess our sins and repent.

People: Grant us your forgiveness and draw us closer to you. Teach us your ways and lead us to be your humble servants in the world.

Pastor: We thank you for the blessings you have poured out on this church.

People: Lord, make us good stewards of all you have entrusted to our care. Guide our leaders to make godly decisions. Surround us with your wisdom and protection and continue to send friends to join us in ministry.

Pastor: I ask you to continue to mold and strengthen Pastor Marjory and I as we answer your call at Alexander Chapel UMC.

People: Lord, care for our pastors, our church leaders. Show each one of us how we can serve you more faithfully. Make us good stewards of all you have entrusted to our care and grant us your continued protection.

Pastor: We pray for people to come to know Jesus. We pray for those in authority over us that they will be influenced by your ways. Lord be with all who place themselves in danger for our protection.

People: For those who are grieving this Advent season bring your hope and comfort to their hearts. We lift up all who are sick and in need for many different reasons. Lord be with all who have requested prayer on the prayer chain and answer their needs.

Pastor: Lord, I ask you to touch me with your Holy Spirit power and let the message I bring today be your word of hope that touches hearts for your glory. It is in the name of Jesus, we pray remembering the prayer that he taught us as we pray together.

All: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done; on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.
