Worship Service Jun 23

5th Sunday after Pentecost

Worship is the highest activity of a person whose sole and ultimate aim is God’s glory.

If you are unable to join us in person, our livestream connection via Zoom in the worship service post begins around 10:45am. You will have time to greet worship participants online and in the church … think of it as a closed circuit connection. If you cannot attend live or you would like to experience it again, our service is recorded and is typically available around 3pm on Sundays via the YouTube link in the worship service post.

Prayers of the People

Pastor: Gracious God, you are Lord of our beginnings and our endings and all that lies between.

People: We praise you for how you have poured out upon us blessing after blessing; for how you have reached out to us; for how you have come to us and how you have spoken to us.

Pastor: Help us to live our faith in ways that bring honor to your name. We confess that we often fail to be your faithful people. Hear us as we individually confess our sins, repent and seek to draw closer to you.

People: Lord, hear our prayer, forgive and draw us close to you.

Pastor: We give thanks for Christ who took our sins upon himself – suffering pain and death. It is with thanksgiving and praise that we rejoice in his resurrection and our salvation.

People: We pray for those who are persecuted around the world for faithfully sharing the gospel and living their faith. Lord, grant them strength. Help us to commit ourselves to you more fully than ever before.

Pastor: We pray for all who are sick and grieving many kinds of loss. Hear our prayers for those we have been praying for over the prayer chain and meet their needs as only you can.

People: Be with those devastated by natural and manmade disasters we pray for restoration and strength.

Pastor: Today we pray for America and our leaders.  Lord, be our guide and send holy revival to our land. Be with all who place themselves in danger for our safety. We ask you to be with their families.

People: Lord, hear our prayer. Make us mindful of our many blessings. We pray for peace in the world and that all leaders would seek to live according to your truth. Bring restoration and hope to those devastated by the effects of war.

Pastor: We ask for your continued guidance and protection upon our churches.  Make us good stewards of all you have entrusted to our care.

People: Guide our church leaders and your mission for this church. Send people to join us in ministry. We pray for our pastors and their ministry. We pray for our incoming pastors and the transition to our church. Bring your anointing upon Pastor Marjory as she brings the message today. May our hearts receive holy hope and transformation.

Pastor: We make our prayer in the name of Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Lord make us one as together we pray the prayer Christ taught his disciples when he prayed

All: The Lord’s Prayer: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.
