Pastor: To you Almighty God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit we offer all honor and praise for you alone are true God, living and dwelling in light inaccessible from before time and forever. When our disobedience took us far from you, you did not abandon us to the power of death.
People: In your mercy you came to our help, so that in seeking you we might find you. Again and again you called us into covenant with you, and through the prophets you taught us to hope for salvation.
Pastor: Thank you, Jesus, for you are true God and true man, crucified and Raised from the dead for the forgiveness of sin unto eternal life. Thank you for sending the Holy Spirit to teach, comfort and guide us in your Way forever. Thank you for drawing us near and forgiving our sins as we earnestly repent.
People: Lord, hear our prayers and forgive our sins as we repent and earnestly seek your presence in our lives. Lord, teach us your ways and grant us holy strength to stand strong in this difficult world.
Pastor: Come quickly to help your persecuted witnesses throughout the world. Fill them with faith, hope and charity.
People: Raise up a new generation of faithful witnesses to the Gospel. Give wisdom and strength to all who teach the faith and lead others to be your faithful servants.
Pastor: Many nations do not know the Lord. There is great evil, suffering and pain in the world. We pray for peace that only you can bring. Touch the hearts of those who seek destruction, power and bring restoration to all who have lost so much. May all see your holy hand, repent and receive seek salvation in Christ.
People: Our hearts turn to America as we pray for revival. We acknowledge that we have failed to be your faithful people. Lord, forgive. Guide our leaders at every level of government to seek your ways and follow. Teach all of us to walk in your pathways of life and truth.
Pastor: Help the members of Alexander Chapel to have holy unity and courage to proclaim your Gospel at all times. Grant us your wisdom and vision for the church. Guide us to faithfully serve together. We long to be faithful in vision and mission. Show each person their personal call to service
People: Lord, be with our leaders and help them to follow your lead. Make us good stewards of our blessings and continue to be our protection. Be with our Pastors and give them your strength to serve. Keep them faithful and show us how to support them.
Pastor: We ask you to deal gently with all who are afflicted by pain, confusion, sorrow, remorse, or despair. Heal every hurt they have sustained. Bring them into a place of refreshment, health, and hope. By your gracious Spirit, give compassion and patience to all who care for them.
People: Lord, in your mercy, please hear our prayer. Hear the prayers of your church and those who have requested prayer on the prayer chain. Answer according to your mercy and perfect will.
Pastor: Lord, grant those who hear the message today a settled and focused spirit. Let the message I proclaim be your message of hope that enlightens and transforms. I ask for your power as I preach in your name. Hear us now as together we join in praying the prayer our Savior gave as an example as when he prayed . . .
All: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive our trespassers. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever! Amen
