October 23, 2022 – Prayers of the People

Pastor: Let us enter into prayer with thanksgiving in our hearts. For great is the Lord and all praise is due him.

People: We rejoice in the God of our Salvation –  Creator of the Universe  – Our Provider. For truly He is Jehovah Jira the God that strengthens us.

Pastor: With confidence as the children of God, we approach your throne with hearts of humility as we confess our sins, repent and seek to draw near to you most holy Lord.

People: Lord hear our prayers and forgive our sins. Our desire is to discern and do your will. Focus us on your path of righteousness so we can walk steadily under your direction. Bend your ear to us, God of love, as we pray not only for ourselves but for people everywhere.

Pastor: God of mercy, we pray for those suffering the aftermath of natural disasters, for the lives, homes and businesses destroyed by war, evil and injustice. We pray for those who are exhausted, those struggling to pay bills and put food on the table, those overwhelmed by suffering and in need of a lighter load. We pray for those who are ill and their caregivers. We lift up to you all who have requested prayer from the church and pray for the touch of your holy hand. hear our prayers.

People: God of mercy, hear our prayers. We pray for peace in the world as we confess that our nation has failed to be your obedient people.Send revival and move in the hearts of leaders at every level of government to seek your wisdom and ways. We pray for peace in the world and that you would bind those who seek to do evil. For all who place their lives in danger for our protection, we ask for your hand of protection and care.  Be with their families.

Pastor: O God, mold us for service, united as a family of faith and as the Body of Christ. We thank you for the sweet fellowship at Alexander Chapel and give thanks that your holy Word is taught. Lead us all by the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit .to follow you with our whole being

People: Grant us listening ears and willing hearts to receive and follow your will. We pray for our leaders to seek your vision and to follow your mission faithfully. May we, your people, seek to do your part in moving your mission forward. Hear our prayers for our pastors. Give them your wisdom and strength as they serve your ministry call.

Pastor: We will always be thankful for your never ending blessings, healing powers and forgiveness. Hear us Lord as we pray together with the prayer that Christ gave his disciples as a model for prayer when he prayed . . . . Lord’s Prayer

All: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done; on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.
